s) What the dynamic return is used for and how it should be used?
Dynamic return is used for the surfers, that haven't been sold, to be sent back to the gallery page, which was initially directed to by the thumb. And that allows to keep the productivity level.
You can use the dynamic return in two ways:
1. Use the dynamic return for a certain gallery
2. Use the dynamic return for a certain position on the web-page.
Further we will use the code for sending traffic YOUR_CODE, which the webmaster has to get in the member's area for each website.
1. Using the dynamic return for a certain gallery.
For doing this you have to change the gallery's url in the rotator to
http://ts.protraffic.com/in/YOUR_CODE/?bu=http://www.gallery.com/lisa/blowjob.html
When using this option the traffic will be sold only from the specified gallery, regardless of its position on the page.
2. Using the dynamic return for a certain position on the website
.
For doing this you have to change the template according to the rotator. The trade-script doesn't mean much, it's not involved in the process.
The traffic will be sold from the template-specified thumb, regardless of the gallery showed in it.
Stream Rotator + atl3:
in the template:
<a href="sr/out.php?l=#POS#&u=cgi-bin/at3/out.cgi?u=http://ts.protraffic.com/in/YOUR_CODE/?bu=#GAL#">
The link template is built according to the scheme:
st/out.php — link on the rotator's out, so it could follow the clicks on the thumb, according to rotator's settings the path can differ from system to system, for example st/out.php or out.php
l=#POS# - a necessary parameter, which allows the rotator to determine the thumb that was clicked
u= - a parameter, which determines the trade script's address, this parameter should be the last of all rotator parameters, in order to transfer correctly the trade scrip's address with all its parameters.
The trade script's address depends on the settings specified during its installation.
For the atl3 trade script you should include the following line:
cgi-bin/at3/out.cgi?u=http://ts.protraffic.com/in/YOUR_CODE/?bu=#GAL#
where:
cgi-bin/at3/out.cgi — path to the trade script
... - you can specify any setting of your trade script, such as skim percentage or trade niche.
u= - address, to which all the traffic should be directed, has to be always the last of trade script parameters
http://ts.protraffic.com/in/YOUR_CODE/?bu= - the link received in portraffic members' area, to which the traffic for sale should be directed.
#GAL# - gallery address, automatically set by the rotator, to which the protraffic system will return the un-sold traffic.
In result we get a line:
<a href="sr/out.php?l=#POS#&u=cgi-bin/at3/out.cgi?u=http://ts.protraffic.com/in/YOUR_CODE/?bu=#GAL#">
Smart Thumbs + atl3:
In smart thumbs rotator the trade script's address is set in the admin zone, that's why you should enter the admin zone, Settings section.
In this section you'll see the Thumb trade script urls field in the top, which has your trade script's address.
The trade script's address depends on the settings specified during its installation, for atl3 the field may show:
cgi-bin/at3/out.cgi?s=#skim#&#u=#url#
where:
cgi-bin/at3/out.cgi — trade script's address
s=#skim# - one of the trade script's settings - skim percentage
u=#url# - gallery address, to which the traffic should be directed
You should add #var1# _before_ #url#. In result you will get the following line:
cgi-bin/at3/out.cgi?s=#skim#&#u=#var1##url#
In the template page you should find the thumb positions, from which you want to sell the traffic. They will look something like this:
<a href="#url0_group1_categoryALL#100"> - this depends on the page and your settings.
You should add &var1=http://ts.protraffic.com/in/YOUR_CODE/?bu= at the end of the address. You will get the following:
<a href="#url0_group1_categoryALL#100&var1=http://ts.protraffic.com/in/YOUR_CODE/?bu=">
it's very important that the line you add starts with an & sign and ends with an = sign
5. Banners & Text links ads
a) How often do you update the stats in the table for buying/selling banners/text link ads?
Available spots statistics is updated each hour. Your Ad campaigns are updated in real time.
b) When I buy a spot, the CTR of my banner is really low. Can I replace it with other approved banners I have and choose one with the best CTR?
You can have several banners approved, then you can switch them and leave the one which shows best CTR.
c) I bought a spot for a period of time and then my hosting went down. What should I do?
You may deactivate your campaign.
d) What are the requirements for Flash ads?
Flash ads must be 70K or smaller in size and utilize Flash versions 4 - 9. All Flash ads should support the ptrfc_click variable.
The ptrfc_click is the tracking code assigned by Protraffic.com to an individual ad. It allows Protraffic to register where the ad was displayed when it was clicked, and helps advertisers determine the effectiveness of their ad campaigns. On any click, Flash ads should redirect to the URL specified in the ptrfc_click argument; other redirection in between are restricted.
The variable name must be spelled "ptrfc_click" and not "ptrfc click" or any other form.
This is the proper code for the ptrfc_click parameter:
on (release) {
getURL(_root.ptrfc_click , "_blank");
}
Please take in consideration that it's not necessary to specify the destination URL for the ad anywhere in this code; this is taken care of through the usage of ptrfc_click. Also, depending on the structure of your Flash ad, it may be necessary to prepend "_root." or "_level0." to "ptrfc_click" above, resulting in "_root.ptrfc_click" or "_level0.ptrfc_click".
